Spanish School (xx) - "saturne Dévorant Un De Ses Fils" (d'après Francisco De Goya)
Oil on canvas. Original canvas.
Under the shadow of ravenous madness, the titan tears at the bloody flesh of his own bloodline, sinking his fingers into the lacerated flesh of an inanimate torso. His eyes, two orbs of absolute panic and senile insanity, stare into the void as his jaw dislocates to devour hope in a feast of viscera and shadow. There is nothing divine in this act, only the impulse of a cannibalistic age which, terrified of its own demise, prefers to regurgitate death rather than let tomorrow be born.
Image dimensions unframed: 60 x 80 cm / 70 x 90 cm with custom frame.
