Leather-covered spindles wrapped with steel filigree.
Steel olive knobs.
Steel bivalve guards and thick, stiff leather protectors on the fuse side.
Three-sided blued and gilded blades on the first third.
At the base of the blades, on the side of the widest hollow panel, is a gilded cartouche with the initial W. This signature is that used by the workshops of the weyersberg family (Solingen) circa 1830-40.
Wear and oxidation on the blue and gold.
Oxidation on the steels.
Guards have some play.
The whole remains solid and quite presentable.
