Large Radiant Monstrance, Gilded And Silvered Copper, Rococo Period, Southern Germany, 18th Century
Important radiating monstrance, South German/Austrian work, second half of the 18th century, Rococo period.
Fire-gilded and partially silvered copper, rich repoussé, engraved and openwork decoration.
Movement foot decorated with rocailles and flowers in relief, glazed central part adorned with colored glass cabochons. Radiant glory with representation of the Holy Spirit (dove), God the Father above, framed by two cherubs bearing the instruments of the Passion (scourging column and cross).
Lunule missing. Age-related wear and traces of use.
