Art Deco Silver Bonbonnière, Dish Handwrought, Germany C. 1930-40

Art Deco Silver Bonbonnière - Handwrought, Germany c. 1930-40(Silver dish - bonbonnière - boat shape - handwrought - 835 silver)

An elongated oval boat shape with asymmetrically raised longitudinal sides, planished finish, complete hallmarking.
This dish is a precise document of German craftsmanship between Bauhaus rationality and Art Deco elegance.
The piece bears the half-moon, crown and fineness mark 835 together with a maker's mark, firmly placing it within German silversmithing of the interwar period.
Dimensions 18 × 7.2 × 3 cm, weight 78 g
attest to the formal economy characteristic of the period.

The dish belongs formally to the tradition of reduced metal design developed in German silversmithing centers between 1920 and 1940. The planished surface, achieved through hand-hammering, is not a decorative quotation but a production hallmark of individually crafted pieces of this era.

Maker's mark: Identification has not yet been established. Standard references for German silver marks of the 20th century are sparse; Neuwirth remains incomplete for this period.
