Reliquary of Blessed Catherine Labouré with authentic - Rome, 1933

Authentic 11 cm silver filigree reliquary medallion with neobaroque and floral decoration, enclosing a relic of Blessed Catherine Labouré, a nun of the Daughters of Charity and famous seer of the Miraculous Medal.

The relic is presented under glass in an oval theca on a red textile background, accompanied by its handwritten titulus
"B. Labouré".

The reliquary retains its intact red wax ecclesiastical seal with silk threads on the reverse, guaranteeing the relic's integrity. It is accompanied by its original authentic document issued in Rome in 1933 by the Postulatio Generalis Congregationis Missionis, officially confirming the relic's authenticity and authorization for public veneration.

Very fine workmanship, typical of Italian religious productions from the first third of the 20th century.
Presented in its antique case.

Condition:

Very good overall condition with light wear and oxidation from use. Authentic original present.

About Saint Catherine Labouré:

Catherine Labouré (1806-1876) was a French nun of the Daughters of Charity, known for the Marian apparitions at rue du Bac in Paris in 1830. She is associated with the creation of the Miraculous Medal, which has become one of the most widespread devotional objects in the Catholic world. Beatified in 1933 and canonized in 1947, she remains a major figure in modern Marian spirituality.

In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as an object of sacred art. The relics it contains are not the subject of the transaction, but are included free of charge for their historical and cultural value.
