Josef Tilleux, 1896-1978, Belgian painter of landscapes, urban views and still lifes. He studied with Isidore Opsomer, Frans Courtens, Félix Gogo and Frans Hens at the Antwerp Academy and the NHISKA. He settles in Lierre, where he befriends Félix Timmermans. It was here that he held his first exhibition, and from then on Lierre and the surrounding area were to play an important role in his work. He also worked in Holland, Germany, Italy and Spain. His early work was in the Expressionist tradition, and later evolved into Post-Impressionism. He was a professor at the Tenremonde Academy. Artist listed with Bénézit, Arto and Piron, quoted Artprice, Artnet, Mayer, Akoun....
This canvas, well stretched on its original stretcher, is in very good condition.
The painting, never cleaned, not dirty, is in very good condition.
Always stored in a crate, near-new condition.
