Circa 1950. Guerlain. Travel Kit: Suitcase, Toiletry Bag And Spray Bottle

The House of Guerlain is one of the monuments of French luxury, and in the 50s exclusivity was the watchword for its marketing.
As a complement to its wonderful fragrances, Guerlain offered a range of leather goods, enabling travel in the spirit of the brand.
If the spray bottle with its leather case is well known, the matching luggage is much less so: it must have cost a small fortune.
They consist of a small suitcase, with a tray on which to place the open toiletry kit.
This practical feature was common in the '30s, and the closed toiletry bag could also be used as a separate piece of luggage.
Featuring cut crystal fittings with gold-plated stoppers, it includes two bottles, two brushes, two ointment jars, a toothbrush case, a jewelry box, a manicure set, a box for a washcloth, and a mirror.
The manicure set is a little incomplete ( missing the comb ,a small nail nipper and a long object) , the leather of the comb case is dry and a little damaged .
The spray bulb is out of order ( to be changed )
The suitcase is in good condition with traces of use , the toiletry kit is in excellent condition, and there is even still an excellent perfume in one of the bottles.
At a time when it was unseemly to display the signature of a high-luxury item, only the spray bottle is marked. The supple cherry leather is identical throughout (suitcase, pencil case and spray case).
For the connoisseur, the quality of the components and their craftsmanship speak for themselves.
