Pair Of Drawings, In Blue Ink, 17th Or 18th Century.
Two interesting Italian drawings, late 17th or early 18th century. Same hand. One depicts Chronos devouring his children. He is shown in his traditional form, with his scythe. The second depicts the Fates spinning the thread of destiny and human life: Nina, Decima and Morta. These drawings are cut out, and the lathe may have been damaged. They are sold in 18th-century gilded wooden frames with their original glass, or together with an 18th-century gilded wooden frame.
The two cartons on the backs of the drawings, attached in the past, indicate their theme.
The blue ink used is uncommon.
