Late 18th Century Neoclassical “tempietto” Clock
Elegant “tempietto” clock in white marble with gilded bronze finishes. The clock features a rectangular base, embellished with two columns and a temple top. The finish is embellished with classically inspired gilded bronze details, such as caryatids on the sides, a pendulum with an invincible sun, stars, and geometric, floral, and festoon motifs, further enhancing the piece's refinement. The mechanism includes a weekly chime that indicates the hours and half-hours, an anchor escapement, and a wire suspension. The dial features Roman numerals and the clockmaker's signature: "Thomas Keller," along with the place of manufacture, "au Puy," referring to the French town of LePuy-en-Velay. This is a tasteful and antique clock, capable of furnishing any space with class and refinement. French manufacture from the Neoclassical-LouisXVI period, around the end of the 18th century.
