An Indian quilt in declination of the "Coquesigrues" from the Manufacture Royale de Jouy-en-Josas and dating from the late 18th century. An unlisted "perse" with a design of extraordinary flowers and imaginary animals, half insect, half bird. Coquecigrues" means "absurd, burlesque, chimerical", depicting extraordinary flowers and imaginary animals. Several Indian-style damages, notably in relation to mordants. However, the quilt remains stable and easy to handle. Good overall condition, despite some flaws. Rare piece.
