A beautiful and very sensitive late Mannerist bronze statuette of the mourning Virgin Mary, probably originally looking up at a Crucifixion and flanked by a balancing figure of St John. Still retaining part of the original fire-gilding.
Good condition for the age, mounted on a later turned-wood base. Beautiful patination.
