A high-quality miniature portrait of a bewigged gentleman from the latter part of the 18th century, presumably made either in France or Germany. Unusually the miniature is executed like a drawing, in black ink on paper, like a grisaille. Interesting early inscriptions on the verso.
Very good condition for the age.
