Ferdinand Pire Ferdinand
PIRE, Ferdinand (also: FERDINAND PIRE FERDINAND) (Brussels, 1943) Painter, glass painter. Drawing artist. Son and pupil of Marcel Pire, grandson of Ernest Ferdinand Pire. Trained at the Brussels Academy and in Cape Town/South Africa. Author of city views, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, nudes, figures and still lifes. The richness of his colors and the enchantment of his lines testify to a joie de vivre and aesthetic experimentation. From 1987 onwards, he often uses the technique under glass. In the press: "F.P.F. mainly paints under glass in the style of Floris Jespers, but with a marked predilection for depicting amorous relationships, where he uses highly decipherable symbols". Travels extensively. Visits Congo, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia, Tunisia. Stayed a few years in Sicily and then undertook a trip to the United States and Mexico. Exhibited at Galerie "Le Bercail" in Izel-sur-Semois in 1991. Mentioned in "Artistes et Galeries 2000 (4e édition)", BAS I and in "Deux Sieles de Signatures d'Artistes de Belgique".
