Art Deco Cameo Glass Vase Signed Le Verre Français,
Art Deco cameo glass vase signed Le Verre Français, "Campanulas" décor, circa 1922-1925. Charming round-form vase resting on a small heel, in multi-layered glass: yellow and orange powdered ground shaded with copper red, purplish overlay acid-etched with a design of stylized bells (campanulas) and sinuous stems running all around the body. The upper frieze is adorned with geometric honeycomb motifs, highlighting the slightly open neck and accentuating the graphic character of the decoration.
The acid-etching work highlights the dark cameo flowers and foliage against the luminous background, with a surface contrast between satin-finished areas and more lustrous parts, a process characteristic of Le Verre Français production in Épinay-sur-Seine in the 1920s. Production by Verreries Schneider, Le Verre Français line, Campanules decoration well documented on vases and lighting fixtures from the same period. Signature "Le Verre Français" / "La Verre Français" and/or "Charder" cameo on base (please specify according to your specimen).
