Louis XIII Period Low Sideboard In Solid Walnut, Two Leaves And 3 Drawers, 17th Century

Louis XIII period sideboard in solid walnut.
This magnificent piece of furniture rests on four straight, square-section legs, and is encircled by a wide molding at the bottom.
The front opens onto two leaves, each decorated with seven small rectangular panels with heavily molded surrounds, four of which run horizontally, and three (in the center) vertically.
The upper section is fitted with three drawers, one of which is smaller in the center. A thick molded strip separates the row of drawers from the two leaves.
The sides of our piece of furniture are also worked and adorned with four vertical rectangular panels surmounted by a fifth, horizontally.
The whole is topped with a wooden top embellished with beautiful molding on the three main sides.
The backs are in good condition, with a few minor repairs, most of which have been filled in with hard wax to retain as much authenticity as possible.
As a reminder, this piece of furniture dates from the first half of the 17th century and is in remarkable condition for its age.
