Kilim Shahsaven - Persia. Circa 1930. 165 X 90 Cm
Authentic, original and even surprising, this piece is extremely rare in its composition. The work of the nomadic Shahsaven people, Persia, woven wool on wool in the traditional way. Composed of two sections joined and sewn together, this piece offers an atypical, unique composition. Most of the surface is made up of natural, undyed wool, interspersed with bands of deep, luminous vegetal hues. All in contrast. The indigo blues are marvelous. The weave is precise, regular and supple. The wool is hand-spun.
A highly decorative piece, in addition to its authentic look. Very rare.
