Liturgical Chalice In Silver And Silver-plated Bronze With Box - Belgium - Early 20th Century
Early 20th century liturgical chalice, probably of Belgian origin.
The base (foot) and lid are made of silver-plated metal, while the (cuppa) is solid silver.
The chalice features an elegant silhouette with a flared foot adorned with a Christian symbol (Chi-Rho) applied in gilded metal. The lid is surmounted by a small cross. The set is preserved in its original case, interior upholstered in red fabric.
There are visible traces of use and wear, including loss of silver plating, scratches and general patina, consistent with its age (see photos). The inside of the cup also shows signs of use.
