Candy Dish In Bohemian Crystal Late 19th Century
Bohemian crystal candy dish drageoir late 19th century
Superb covered bonbonnière, forming a drageoir, in richly cut and finely enamelled Bohemian crystal, late 19th century work.
The piece is distinguished by the depth and warmth of its amber hue, enhanced by a polychrome enamel decoration of great finesse, composed of scrolls, stylized floral motifs and ornamental elements of orientalist inspiration. The whole is delicately highlighted with gold highlights and enamel punctuations, adding relief and sparkle.
The elegant silhouette, resting on a faceted pedestal, is extended by a baluster grip lid, itself adorned in the same decorative spirit, creating a perfect overall harmony. The carving work, particularly visible on the foot and friezes, captures the light with subtlety.
Typical of late 19th-century Bohemian production, this piece illustrates the refinement and virtuosity of the glass workshops of this period.
