émile Gallé (1846-1904) - Lamp Base In Multi-layered Glass With Plant Decoration.
Émile Gallé (1846-1904) - Multilayer glass lamp base with plant decoration
Elegant multi-layered glass lamp base signed Émile Gallé, featuring a finely acid-etched vegetal decoration characteristic of the work of the École de Nancy.
The piece rests on a light background, with white and slightly opalescent shades, enhanced by violet-brown and amber layers forming a stylized foliage decoration. The ensemble offers a refined contrast between the transparency of the background and the depth of the relief decoration.
The slender shape, resting on a flared base, gives the object a beautiful presence and great elegance. The constricted neck originally allowed the adaptation of an electrical system, now disappeared or to be retrofitted as required.
Signed Gallé in reserve on the base.
