Antique Cut-glass Tankard With Pewter Mount And Lid
Moulded and cut glass tankard on a circular foot.
The body is decorated with geometric motifs and cut fluting. Mount and lid in pewter (or spelter) with gadrooned decoration.
The hinged lid has a curved thumbpiece, and the finial is set with a faceted red cabochon.
This tankard is in the historicist taste, typical of decorative tankard production in Central Europe from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
Condition: signs of use, minor marks and visible wear to the mount; some flaws and light surface scratches to the glass consistent with age; note a small chip to the rim (see last photo).
