Whether a toy to give a young prince a taste for artillery, or a reduction for the pleasure of an old naval officer's cabinet, this superb diminutive has nothing to envy its steerage model, which equips His Majesty's ships.
The bronze turning is perfect, perfectly respecting the proportions of the original, the firing hole present. It may even be functional, with a lead ball.
The walnut carriage, with its pretty turned wheels, is original, which is quite a feat, as it is often lost.
A wheel axle nail has been changed, but the whole is perfectly preserved (the bronze may have been varnished for a while to avoid oxidation) and the patina of the wood is perfect.
