Born in Carpentras in 2825 and died in 1901.
Took the Beaux Arts course in Montpellier alongside Cabanel.
From 1842 to 1846 stayed in Paris and took the Beaux Arts course in Paul Delaroche's studio.
From 1846 to 1849 traveled through Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey and Persia. From these travels he brought back hundreds of drawings that would serve his artistic activity.
From 1850 to 1860, he works in Paris and regularly participates in the Salon.
Returning to Carpentras, he contributes to the development of the town's Bibliothèque Musée.
Public collections: Carpentras, Grenoble, Marseille, Montpellier, Nîmes, Musée d'Orsay, Rouen.
