Large bronze mortar, decorated with six buttresses resting on shells and surmounted by Indian heads, alternating with pastillages of lion's heads, Moorish profiles and female mascarons in the Bellifontain style. The collar is adorned with six buttons.
France, early 17th century.

Pleasant brown-green patina (which stands out greyer on photos). No cracks. An owner's mark has been incised under the mortar.
