The work stands out for its extraordinary sculptural energy and vibrant compositional dynamism, typical of early 20th-century artistic casting. The artist reinterprets the classical myth by freezing the moment in a dramatic twist of forms: the winged hero Perseus, captured in a tense and agile pose, vigorously embraces the steed Pegasus, who rears up with fervor.
The modeling, characterized by a dynamic, undulating surface that captures the light while accentuating its chiaroscuro effects, draws on the tradition of late-nineteenth-century sculpture in the Impressionist and Scapigliati styles. The bronze rests on a refined and elegant contemporary circular bronze tripod base, perfectly integrated with the sculpture’s structure.
