Christmas Roses
Painting executed by Neville Stephen Bulwer-Lytton (1879-1951), 3rd Earl of Lytton, renowned British artist and distinguished officer. Educated notably at Eton College and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed an active artistic career between 1900 and 1940, exhibiting in major institutions such as the Royal Academy of Arts.
Officer during the First World War, he was awarded the Legion of Honor for his bravery. His work is now held in several collections, including the Imperial War Museum. A profile sketch of the Earl is on display at the National Portrait Gallery
