Large black ceramic vase, neoclassical with gilt bronze handles, late 19th century.

Elegant deep black glass baluster vase, resting on a square pedestal in finely chased gilt bronze. The frame is richly decorated with antique-inspired beaded friezes, acanthus leaves and gadrooned motifs. The two side handles, sculpted with vegetal scrolls, bring a harmonious balance to the whole. The contrast between the dark sheen of the body and the warmth of the gilded bronze lends the object a refined, timeless presence.
