Manzana Pissarro Stencil, First Proof

First proof (1/100), enhanced with stencils on a gold background, signed lower right and numbered. This stencil print by Manzana Pissarro depicts three hens in a stylized garden, rendered in a harmonious palette of deep greens, soft blues, and velvety blacks, enhanced with touches of bright red on their combs. A Japanese influence and a graphic simplification characteristic of 20th-century modern aesthetics are evident. Manzana Pissarro (born in 1903), from the renowned Pissarro family, follows in the artistic tradition inherited from Camille Pissarro while developing her own personal style. Her work is distinguished by a marked taste for intimate scenes, animal subjects, and decorative compositions with clean lines.
