Wonderful kilim from Kars in northeastern Anatolia.
Woven wool on wool in the traditional manner.
The weave is fine and delicate, the piece is supple and light.
The natural and vegetal hues are both rare in this composition and in perfect harmony.
The ochre and reddish tones form sets of great purity, they are accompanied by a very beautiful, densely concentrated indigo blue.

Very fine overall condition
Note, some disgorgement of red tint at the level of the white motifs. This detail can be taken care of by our restorer.
