A homogeneous set of six small, portable, oval-shaped reliquaries made of metal (silver or silver-plated metal), containing so-called contact relics related to the instruments and episodes of the Passion of Christ.
Description
Each reliquary features, against a red fabric background adorned with gilt paper trim, a relic set within a lozenge-shaped compartment, accompanied by a handwritten inscription on strips of paper. The identified relics are as follows: • From the Shroud of Christ (Ex Sudario D.N.)
From the Nativity Scene (Ex Cuna D.N.)
From the Purple Cloth of Mockery (Ex Purpura D.N.)
From the Crown of Thorns (De Spina D.N.)
From the Nail of the Passion (De Clavo D.N.)
From the Rope of the Passion (De Fune D.N.)
The reverses are closed and sealed with red wax seals and silk threads, attesting to the relics' long-standing integrity. This devotional work is characteristic of the late 18th or 19th century and was intended for private piety.

In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as a sacred work of art.
