Very Large Patinated Regule Clock -
Important decorative clock in regule with bronze patina, depicting a country scene entitled "La Moisson".
The group features a young peasant guiding an ox, in a dynamic composition evoking work in the fields. The base is richly adorned with agricultural attributes (sheaves of wheat, tools), with an enamelled dial with Arabic numerals on the front, encircled by a gilded mounting.
The whole rests on a veined red marble base, bringing elegance and stability to the composition.
This type of clock, very popular at the end of the 19th century, is part of the tradition of pendulas with popular and naturalistic subjects, typical of French production.
