Summer Allegory - 18th Century French School After Bassano
Black pencil and gouache highlights
Our composition is an allegorical representation of summer largely borrowed from 16th-century Venetian colorist Jacopo Bassano. Well more than just an interpretation of a work often pastiched by later European painters of the following centuries, our drawing is no less original: the choice of media (black pencil and gouache) in a monochrome version rather than trying to recreate Bassano's palette, makes it a unique collector's item.
The drawing is soberly positioned in a beveled marie-louise anti-UV and anti-reflective glass, all in a profiled blackened wood frame.
Dimensions : 19 x 30 cm per sheet - 39 x 50 cm with frameframe
