Altar Piece In Polychrome Marble, Italy, 17th Century
Very rare and important altar piece in marble and polychrome marble marquetry with Baroque decor of shells, gadroons and arabesques. Most probably comes from the front of a high altar. The whole is richly inlaid with "verde antico" marble, yellow marble (unidentified) and red marble on a white marble base.
