This large canvas depicts the month of November according to the iconography of Joachim von Sandrart: a young hunter wearing a fur cap, carrying his game on his shoulder, accompanied by his dog. The low evening light, the deep green mantle and the hilly landscape bathed in ochre and grey convey the melancholy of late autumn.
