Philippe Favier, (1957 -2026) born in Saint-Étienne is a painter and engraver , specializing in miniatures and small formats in black and white.
Recognized by critics from his earliest exhibitions, he has not been influenced by any current, finding his own original path
Press cartoonist in 1977 at L'Hebdo de Saint-Étienne.
he takes part in an exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, then exhibits at the Musée d'Art Moderne in St. Etienne, at the Paris and Venice Biennales
he also works with cold enamel, and the Manufacture de Sèvres commissions him to decorate a plate, a dinner service known as "du Millénaire", with gold decorations on a Sèvres blue background, and intended for the ceremonial dinners of the President of the Republic at the Élysée Palace.
He was awarded the Prix de Rome for painting and engraving in 1985
he teaches at the Beaux Arts in St Étienne and at the same time exhibits in numerous galleries in New York , Tokyo etc ...
Philippe Favier's output is enormous and varied, as are his techniques, he has tackled drawing sculpture writing....

He died in 2026 in a car accident
It remains a highly original work by a world-renowned poet and free artist
