Brother of painters Charles, François and Aimé Barraud, he exhibited two canvases at the Salon des indépendants in 1929.
He regularly exhibited in Swiss museums, including the Palais de l'Athénée in 1954.
Aurèle Barraud was not only a painter, but also an engraver. In fact, he admits to preferring his engraved work to his painted.
