Charming Louis XIII-style armchair with high seat and short back, also known as a "chaise à bras", made of solid walnut and dating from the 19th century.
Our chair is very interesting for its small proportions, resting on four legs linked by an H-shaped brace, as well as a high front crosspiece, all nicely turned into a baluster.
The armrests as well as the armrest supports present the same workmanship.
Our chair's upholstery is antique and in very good condition.
Firm and comfortable, the back and seat are covered in a lovely tan-colored leather that has acquired a beautiful patina with a few dark shades over time.
Please note a few small, unimportant dents on the ends of some of the legs, due to use and unavoidable given their age (see photo 12), as well as a small repair on the top of the right armrest (see photo 11), with no effect on stability.
