Charming painting depicting a lively street scene with two figures. Our painting is signed in the upper right corner R. Bondenet. This oil on canvas was painted by René Bondenet, a native of Auxerre. He participated in the Salon des Indépendants in 1931 and 1932 (ref. Bénézit). Sold in a beautiful, richly carved Montparnasse-style frame, this urban landscape is dated 1944 and bears the number 1775. It was painted in the "Les Sapins" studio in Wissous, near Paris (notation on the back of the canvas). Dimensions: Frame: Height 69 cm, Width 80 cm; Canvas: Height 50 cm, Width 61 cm.
