Rare and elegant rectangular-shaped coffee table, featuring a remarkable polychrome marble inlay top, resting on a wrought-iron base richly adorned with gilding.

The particularly decorative top is composed of a sophisticated checkerboard of hard stones and varied marbles (griotte, brèche, green, black and yellow marbles), arranged in a subtle chromatic play. It is framed by a wide border in veined black marble, highlighted by a thick belt in veined yellow Sienna marble, evoking Italian pietra dura productions.

The base, in hammered wrought iron, develops an agitated décor of wide volutes and scrolls, enriched by applications of stylized leaves partially gilded.
The ensemble, of great plastic vigor, is in keeping with the taste of Italian Baroque and the decorative creations of the 16th century, revisited in the 20th century by high quality workshops.
