Louis XVI Period Clock In Gilt Bronze
A Louis XVI gilt bronze clock, finely chased.
The case is architecturally shaped and symmetrical, resting on a richly decorated rectangular base. The front is adorned with relief motifs: garlands, scrolls, and foliate borders. The lower section features a remarkable bas-relief depicting an antique dance scene. The upper section consists of a cup flanked by two birds and surmounted by a vegetal motif.
The circular white enamel dial is decorated with black Roman numerals and slender gilt hands.
The pendulum and key are in working order.
