Saint Catherine - Limoges Enamel - Laudin Workshop - Late 17th Century
Limoges enamel on slightly domed copper depicting Saint Catherine within a medallion, surrounded by a raised white lambrequin border.
At her side appears one of her attributes, the broken wheel; she is shown crowned and haloed.
Although the work is unsigned, its style and the techniques employed allow it to be attributed to the Laudin workshop.
The enamel is in excellent condition, with no cracks on the main surface.
A slight loss of enamel is visible at the lower left, see photo.
