Oil on canvas depicting figures (sailors?) securely mooring a boat in dry dock during rough weather. The painting beautifully renders the raging sea and the threatening, cloudy sky. It is framed in wood, stuccoed and gilded. The original canvas is in good condition, with a few minor scratches. The original frame also has a few small, easily repairable losses. French School, second half of the 19th century. Canvas dimensions: 46.5 cm x 32.5 cm. Dimensions with frame: 62.5 cm x 49.5 cm.
