China Lacquer Screen
Beautiful small screen in Coromandel lacquer that can be used as a fireplace front made up of a panel set in slides, with double decoration (recto/verso). 1 side decorated with figures crossing a bridge in a central cartouche flanked by 4 circular medallions decorated with vases, all different. Rich decoration of flowers on a gold background. The other side, simpler, decorated with vases, flowers, ... This panel, probably from the 18th century, was mounted on a 19th century plinth decorated with trellises and golden dragons, in order to highlight it. Some accidents in the lacquer of the panel but nothing serious Beautiful decorative object. Panel only 58 cm X 49 cm Panel + base 64 cm X 75 cm wheelbase depth 24.5 cm
