The Shepherds' Stop
Large oil on canvas from the beginning of the 18th century representing the halt at the fountain of a herd of sheep, goats and cows. Animals and people are resting after a long walk. The lambs, for their part, traveled in baskets attached to a horse. According to the characters and the painting techniques, one can think of a Dutch school. The painting is in good condition. Some repaints. Nothing unusual for a painting of this period. 19th century frame in stuccoed and gilded wood that goes well with the canvas. Beginning of the 18th century.
