Lille Large 18th Century Silver Ewer

Large 18th-century silver tripod ewer, hallmarked Lille 1784, by the silversmith Roger Joseph Desbouvry. The model features twisted ribs, scrolled feet with foliate attachments, and a blackened wooden side handle. The spout is decorated with an applied beaded frieze; the hinged, twisted lid is decorated with beadwork and surmounted by a plume finial. There is a trace of soldering on one foot. Height 30 cm. Beautiful hallmarks on the three feet, the spout, the handle hood, the body, the lid, and the hinges (15 hallmarks in total). Weight 925 grams.
