Crystal Goblet With Hasselt Cross Inclusion, 1831, Netherlands
A rare cut crystal goblet, inlaid of an enamel decoration on gold foil: Hasselt Cross, similar to Legion of Honor goblets in France.
In very good condition, without flaws, crystal rings beautifully.

"A bronze-colored cross with four arms, bearing a crowned 'W' above a shield composed of an oak branch (on left) and a laurel branch (on right). It is called the Hasselt Cross because the bronze used in its manufacture came from cannons captured during the Battle of Hasselt on August 8, 1831."
