Fine 18th Century Polished Iron Gimbal Table Oil Lamp
High wrought iron lamp, a table model, but can also be hung, thanks to its hook.
Resting on domed base, a forged rod starting from a flowered cutout ends with a stirrup, on which pivots the hemispherical oil lamp, burner with a wick spout, filling in tank, cover closing with flat pull with a pretty cutout.
The lamp could be hold in any position without fear: the cardan system secured.
A little-listed model, elegant and solid, second half of 18th century.
