Louis XV Oval Carved And Gilt Frame, Swiss Pine Wood, Veneto-emilia, 18th Century
Elegant oval frame in Swiss pine wood (cirmolo), dating to the mid-18th century and attributable to the Veneto-Emilia border area. The piece features a richly carved design with scrolling foliage motifs typical of the Louis XV style, with an openwork and dynamic composition that gives the frame a refined lightness. The central oval is surrounded by a harmonious arrangement of volutes and leaf carvings. The gilding is executed in gold leaf over a red/orange bole ground, still clearly visible, with a warm and authentic patina and light wear consistent with age.Overall in good condition. Minor chips, an old glued repair on one scroll, and a small loss to the tip of a leaf on the left side are noted, all consistent with age and not visually intrusive.A highly decorative object, ideal for small paintings, miniatures, or a mirror, as well as a standalone decorative element.Dimensions:Height 32 cm – Width 25.5 cmOval opening: 9.3 x 7.5 cmRebate: 10.5 x 8.7 cmFor further information, photos, or technical details, please do not hesitate to contact us.Worldwide shipping available with professional packaging.
