Transitional Armchair From The 18th Century.

A lovely Louis XVI period lacquered wood armchair. Fluted and reeded legs support an ovoid seat upholstered in floral cotton. The front rail is carved with a floral motif, which is repeated on the top of the caned back. Note the Louis XV style armrests, which classify this chair as transitional in style. The armchair is in excellent condition. Upholstered and restored. France, circa 1770-1780.
