Standing Man Louis XIII, Two-part Walnut Cabinet, Double Body, Late 17th/early 18th Century
A very handsome standing cabinet in solid walnut, in the pure Louis XIII style of the late 17th/early 18th century, from the Southwest region of France. It rests on two ball feet at the front and two straight feet at the back. This piece of furniture is composed of two superimposed sections: the lower section opens with a door and a wide transverse drawer, while the upper section opens with a door. Each door is framed by two panels decorated with two diamond points. The whole is surmounted by a wide cornice with projecting molding. It boasts exceptional thickness in the moldings as well as the back panels (see photos). We note that we are selling this piece in the condition in which we acquired it; it shows some signs of wear, especially on the central panel, on the right side in the upper corner (see photo). A small repair or filling will be necessary; however, it has retained a beautiful original patina and will simply need a light waxing. This piece of furniture is in good condition considering its age (late 17th - early 18th century). A piece for the discerning collector. Dimensions: height 218 cm, depth to cornice 71 cm, length to cornice 124 cm
