Neo-renaissance Wardrobe In Walnut And Walnut Burl. Eastern France, Late 19th Century

An elegant small Neo-Renaissance style cabinet in walnut and walnut burl, dating from the 19th century.
It opens with two doors on the front.
Its architecture is richly detailed, featuring fluted engaged columns with Corinthian-inspired capitals, surmounted by a curved pediment adorned with finely carved vegetal motifs.
The upper section is embellished with turned finials, reinforcing its architectural character. The panels are veneered in burl, offering a superb decorative effect and a beautiful depth of texture.
The whole rests on a molded base, in balanced and elegant proportions.
Made in eastern France, probably Alsace or Lorraine, in the Rhenish Renaissance style, late 19th century.
The secondary parts (back) are constructed of fir, in keeping with regional practices.
Good overall condition, with a beautiful antique patina. Some signs of age, without detracting from its aesthetic appeal.
